Founder/President
Sherie Tantao
(She/her) My name is Sherie Tantao and I am a junior at Dulaney high. I started this nonprofit in response to the alarming number of girls (129 MILLION) out of school. The lack of educational opportunities is a big reason behind the wage gap and underrepresentation of women in STEM fields. Assisting in promoting equity for women all over the world is my aim for starting this nonprofit.

Co-Vice President
Aishwaryaa Jagadish
My name is Aishwaryaa and I’m a junior at Dulaney High. I joined HEM for my passion in advocacy for female educational rights around the globe. This passion of mine has since grew after learning about the millions of girls who lack education, and how people turn away from this problem as if it doesn’t even matter. I believe that we have to step up for this issue because all girls/women deserve the opportunity to learn and be successful, in order to satisfy morals and benefit our economy as a whole. In my position, I hope to encourage this movement through my commitment and hard-work to HEM.

Co-Vice President
Yehna Kim
Hello! My name is Yehna Kim and I am a junior at Dulaney High (Class of 2025). The reason I joined HEM was in response to the historical lack of female representation in STEM outside of the U.S. and in many under-appreciated parts of the world. As a student who is interested in joining the STEM field, it is my hope that through this club, we can help promote and contribute to the ongoing fight for women’s education and equity; a struggle worth fighting for.

Treasurer
Emily Kim
I'm Emily Kim and I'm a junior at Dulaney. I joined this group due to the lack of educational and career opportunities for girls and women around the world; which in turn, leads to a misconception of a girl's potential and place in the world. I hope that HEM will help change that misconception and provide a better future for everyone, regardless of a person's identity.

Secretary
Kriti Dhakal
(She/her) Hi! My name's Kriti Dhakal and I'm currently a junior at Howard High in HOCO. I joined HEM because my entire life I've wanted to dedicate my life to helping those less fortunate than me, and that's what HEM is meant to do!. The most important rights for anyone, in my book, include the right to shelter, the right to food and water, and the right to an education, despite their gender. race, who they love, ANYTHING.

Social Media manager
Sarina Ali
Hiyaa y’all! I’m Sarina Ali and I am a senior at Dulaney High School. Majority of my family lives in South Asia, due to this, I was familiar with the concept of girls being kept out of school. Due to that, many people struggle with poverty as they are uneducated. I always found this to be extremely unfair and always wished that there was a way to end this. By advocating for accessible education for girls, we can end gender inequality as well as poverty and starvation. More educated girls means more educated humans which will result in a more prosperous world.
